So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word Psalm 119;142 |

100% our Savior Is it possible that one little Bible book of only six chapters could shake the world? Paul's Letter to the Galatians has done it in the past; and the truth in it will do so again when that "other angel" of Revelation 18 will "lighten the earth with glory." A terrific contention is raging worldwide about what the true gospel is - has Christ given Himself to all men or merely offered to do so? Has He paid the penalty for every person's sins, or merely offered to do so? Are we humans our own co-saviors? Or is Christ our Savior 100%? How do we keep faith and works in proper tension? Are we saved by faith alone or by faith plus works? Galatians cuts all these Gordian knots with one swift thrust of the gospel sword: (1) Christ truly died for the world (He didn't merely go to sleep for us!); (2) the honest heart "believes," that is, appreciates what it cost Him to save us; (3) thus the love of Christ "works" to motivate the believer to live for the One who died for us and rose again. (4) Now forever after the one who believes "glories" only in the cross of Christ. The "glory" that shines there is brighter than all the glory in the malls, the car showrooms, the dress shops, yes, in DisneyWorld. (5) Forever and ever those who appreciate the cost of their redemption (Christ went to hell in order to find us) will sing praises to the One who is agape. If you are seriously desirous of capturing for your soul the fire that is in the Book of Galatians, ask for a copy of GALATIANS FOR TODAY'S YOUTH, a 20-page booklet that is a free-paraphrase in modern language.
